Bose AL8

Bose AL8 Homewide Wireless Audio LinkThe Bose AL8 wireless audio link allows you to bring the awesome quality of sound from your Bose sound system to any room in your home without having to run wires.  The AL8 is designed for the Bose Lifestyle series and includes a transmitter and a receiver.  You’ll need a Bose link-enabled device in any room that you want to hear your sound but the wireless functionality allows you to get the most from your Lifestyle system media center.

To set things up, you connect the transmitter to your main Bose Lifestyle system and then connect the receiver to the speaker system in another room.  For example, you might have one of Bose’s Lifestyle RoomMate powered speaker systems in another room and you can simply connect up the AL8 receiver to it in order to receive sound from your main sound system.  The RoomMate powered speaker is a good companion to the AL8 because it comes with the Bose Personal Music Center II remote which allows you to wirelessly control your main system from another room.  If you don’t have the Bose Lifestyle Personal Music Center II Expansion Controller remote already you’ll need one if you want to control the sound in each room where you have an AR1 receiver.

The AL8 uses Bose Free Field circuitry to distribute a wireless signal that is resistant to interference from the many other wireless devices you may have around your home.  The maximum range available tends to be about 80 feet. You can place up to eight AR1 receivers all throughout your house to envelop yourself in Bose quality sound as you go through the day’s activities.  You even have the option of having the wireless receiver units tune into music for you in another room while the main system in the family room is playing a movie for the kids.  The transmitter and receiver both have to be plugged into a wall outlet (not battery powered) and as is generally the case with Bose products you will need the custom Bose Link cable to connect the transmitter and receiver to your respective systems.  Once you have the cables hooked up however the transmitter and receiver automatically sync up and you are ready to sit back and enjoy your sound system.
